Strategic collaboration will see SensePost and Infosec Center build cyber knowledge in MENA, with first-of-its-kind training centre for local professionals.
SensePost, the elite consulting arm of the UK’s largest independent cybersecurity consultancy and managed services provider SecureData, today announces a strategic partnership with the Infosec Center in Bahrain that will extend its security training capabilities to the Gulf region.
The persistent rise in security threats, combined with limited security resources within organisations and the increase in regulatory compliance, have put pressure on security professionals to seek knowledge and new techniques to fend off ever-evolving cybercriminals.
Renowned for its expertise, 18-year track record, and innovation on the frontlines of security, SensePost has previously worked with a variety of partners, including BlackHat, to deliver high-end training sessions across the US, Europe and Asia.
This new partnership with world-class cybersecurity training company Infosec Center, headquartered in Bahrain, will enable SensePost to continue its mission of sharing cybersecurity knowledge and upskilling professionals in the wider industry across the UAE and the Middle East, without the need for professionals in the region to travel – usually at great expense – to access this information.
The partnership will involve the delivery of SensePost training sessions, from Infosec Center’s state-of-the-art Security Operating Center in Bahrain. The center, with a number of new training rooms, is the first of its kind in the MENA region. Infosec Center will advertise and promote the training sessions to the local community, with SensePost as delivery partners, supplying the instructors.
Training participants will benefit from relevant, up-to-date and challenging courses, delivered by a local partner with the presence, infrastructure and knowledge of the region. The courses, which are based on international standards and SensePost research and experience, ranging from Hacking Infrastructure, Black Ops, and corporate-level security.
“We’ve previously conducted training in Oman and Dubai. It was clear while we were out there that there’s a huge hunger to learn from professionals in the region,” commented Shane Kemp, Sales Manager at SensePost. “We’re now in a place where we can offer more services and really invest in building up cyber capabilities in the Gulf region. We’re looking forward to working with Infosec Center to help break down borders and equip local students with capabilities previously only accessible from international events.”
“We’ve previously worked with SensePost in another capacity, and it was clear the company has unparalleled skill and knowledge,” said Alfaisal Sbia at Infosec Center. “It made sense for us to continue our work together in order to level the cyber playing field and arm our local industry community with the skills required to adapt to today’s changing security environment. We’re investing in personal development today, for a better cyber tomorrow.”
Two initial training sessions have been set up at the centre, running from the 15th – 18th October, which will provide a mix of practical exercises and theory work. The courses are aimed at individuals with an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge of cybersecurity.
